Purification of recovered phosphoric acid by extracting aluminium with di-2-ethylhexyl phosphoric acid

Abstract The extraction of aluminium from dilute phosphoric acid with di-2-ethylhexyl (DEHPA) was optimized using response surface methodology. optimization based on the experimental three-level central composite face-centred design (CCF) and conducted real-life samples. three variables included were pH, extractant concentration aqueous to organic phase ratio (AO). Under conditions (pH 2.5, 0.6 M DEHPA AO 1:2), efficiency 99% for in four stages is achieved. purified solution can then be utilized by fertilizing industry. Stripping tests loaded sulphuric acid. Extremely high stripping obtained 0.9 resulting recovery rate 88% one stage. After stripping, sulphate reused as a precipitation agent phosphorus wastewater treatment process.
